Richard Lowenthal is the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and co-founder of Coulomb Technologies, established in 2007. As a pioneer in electric vehicle charging technology, Richard has been instrumental in advancing sustainable transportation solutions.

Prior to founding Coulomb Technologies, Richard played key roles in launching and growing several successful companies, including Lightera, Pipal Systems, and Procket Networks. From 1996 to 1997, he served as Vice President and General Manager of Cisco’s WAN Access Products Division, and from 1990 to 1995, he was Vice President of Research and Development at StrataCom, a telecommunications equipment company.

Richard’s earlier career highlights include:

• Co-founding and serving as Vice President of Engineering at Stardent Computers

• Vice President of Engineering at Convergent Technologies

In addition to his contributions to technology, Richard is a former Mayor of Cupertino, California, demonstrating his commitment to public service and community development. He is also deeply involved in the nonprofit sector, where he continues to make a positive impact.

Richard holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.
