Mayor, City of Mountain View, California

Mike Kasperzak is a dedicated public servant and community leader who has served on the Mountain View City Council for eight years and as Mayor in 2003. Re-elected in 2008 for a four-year term, Mike is currently serving his second term as Mayor, demonstrating his deep commitment to the city and its residents.

Throughout his public service career, Mike has contributed to numerous boards and committees, including:

• Bay Area Water Supply & Conservation Agency Board

• Santa Clara County Recycling and Waste Reduction Commission

• Various committees of the Valley Transportation Authority and the Santa Clara Valley Water District

Mike also serves as the President of the League of California Cities, becoming the first leader from the Peninsula Division to hold this position in nearly 25 years. His roles within the League include:

• Chair of the Revenue & Tax Committee

• Board member for both the League of California Cities and the Institute for Local Government (ILG)

• Chair of the FAIR Steering Committee

• Chair of the Health Care Task Force for the National League of Cities

Professional Expertise

In addition to his public service, Mike is a commercial mediator with the Silicon Valley Mediation Group. He also serves as a member of the Advisory Board for Nextdoor.com, a neighborhood-focused social networking platform. Prior to his civic career, Mike practiced law for 11 years.

Community Leadership

Mike’s dedication extends to various community organizations, where he has made significant contributions:

• Chair of the Mountain View Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors

• Leadership roles with the American Red Cross, serving as a national management volunteer at Red Cross Headquarters

• Board member for the Community School of Music and Arts, Avenidas, the Santa Clara County Bar Association, and Lewis and Clark College
