Jerry Iwata

Vice President, Wells Fargo Bank

Jerry Iwata is the Vice President and Head of the Life Science Practice at Wells Fargo Bank. Since joining Wells Fargo in 2011, Jerry has been instrumental in building the Life Science Practice and establishing its leadership position nationally in the field.

Prior to his tenure at Wells Fargo, Jerry spent 10 years at Comerica Bank/Imperial Bank in their Venture Capital Group, where he led the Life Science practice in Northern California for the past five years of his service. His earlier career includes nine years at Union Bank, where he held various relationship management roles in commercial banking.

Beyond his professional contributions, Jerry is deeply engaged in the nonprofit sector, serving on boards and committees for organizations such as the American Diabetes Association, BayBio Institute, and Ascend. He also co-founded Camp Entrepreneur at UCSF’s Mission Bay Campus, an initiative designed to empower students, doctors, and researchers to transition into successful entrepreneurs.
