Greg Zegarowski, CPA, is the Assistant Controller of Integrated Reporting at URS, a leading $11-billion international provider of engineering, construction, and technical services. With extensive experience in accounting and corporate finance, Greg has held various leadership roles, including Partner at a regional CPA firm, CFO of a venture-backed medical device distribution company, and Consultant with Deloitte.

Greg is a recognized authority on Extensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL) and its applications in improving the accessibility and transparency of business information, including sustainability metrics. He has presented at numerous international conferences and authored impactful works such as:

• “Corporate Sustainability After Sarbanes-Oxley”, published in the Journal of Disclosure and Governance

• The widely used course “Introduction to XBRL: Revolutionizing Business Reporting,” now in its fourth year with the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA)

Greg is passionate about helping companies—from startups to mature enterprises—enhance their reporting efficiency and effectiveness. His expertise spans integrated reporting, corporate sustainability, and the strategic use of reporting technologies.

In addition to his professional achievements, Greg actively contributes to nonprofit organizations, serving as a trustee and director on local economic development boards.

During his free time, Greg enjoys cycling and hiking the scenic trails of the San Francisco Bay Area.
