David Neighbors

David Neighbors leads the Silicon Valley Tax Practice at SingerLewak LLP, bringing over two decades of expertise in corporate and individual tax compliance and planning. His proficiency encompasses compensation planning, start-up and emerging growth issues, mergers and acquisitions, accounting for income taxes, research credits, and stock option planning.

Before joining SingerLewak, David honed his skills at KPMG Peat Marwick and Ernst & Young in San José. He collaborates with high-net-worth individuals, closely held businesses, partnerships, limited liability companies, and fiduciaries. An area native, David earned both his Bachelor of Science in Business with an Accounting emphasis and a Master’s degree in Taxation from San José State University.

Beyond his professional endeavors, David is deeply committed to civic engagement. He is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and a Past President of the Silicon Valley/San José Chapter of the California Society of Certified Public Accountants. David serves as adjunct faculty at San José State University's Lucas Graduate School of Business and is an elected member of the Governing Board of the Berryessa Union School District. His dedication extends to roles such as Board of Trustees member for The National Hispanic University Foundation and participation in the Beta Alpha Psi Scholarship Committee at San José State University. He has also contributed to the East Side Union High School District’s Audit Committee.

David's volunteerism includes assisting local non-profit organizations with annual tax filings and serving on the boards of the Big Brothers and Sisters of Santa Clara County and the Alum Rock Counseling Center.
