Mayor, City of Sunnyvale

Anthony “Tony” Spitaleri is the current Mayor of Sunnyvale, California, bringing decades of leadership and dedication to public service. Since 1976, he has served as President of the Palo Alto Professional Firefighters Union, representing his commitment to the safety and well-being of his community. With 36 years of service in the Palo Alto Fire Department, Tony is a retired Fire Captain and Public Information Officer.

As Mayor, Tony plays an active role in government and community affairs. His current responsibilities include:

Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG): General Assembly

League of California Cities (LCC): Employee Relations Policy Committee

Cities Association of Santa Clara County (CASCC): City Selection Committee

On the national level, Tony contributes to the U.S. Conference of Mayors, serving on standing committees for:
