Anand Kamannavar

Investment Director, Applied Ventures

Anand Kamannavar is the Investment Director at Applied Ventures, where he leads the firm’s investments in Cleantech, Materials, and the Indian market. With over 14 years of experience in the technology and venture capital industry, Anand plays a pivotal role in fostering innovation and building strategic partnerships.

Since joining Applied Ventures in 2006, Anand has focused on identifying and managing venture investments while facilitating business development between startups and Applied Materials. He serves as a board observer for several companies, including:

• Kotak Urja

• Infinite Power Solutions

• Iosil Energy

• Adesto Technologies

• Voltaix

• Tessolve India

Prior to his role at Applied Ventures, Anand worked at Atlas Ventures and Arch Development Partners, evaluating startups in diverse sectors such as alternative energy, Web 2.0, media, software, and medical technologies.

Earlier in his career, Anand held engineering and business development roles with Hewlett-Packard’s Server Group in Richardson, TX, where he was awarded key U.S. patents. Additionally, he co-founded Precision Information Systems, which provides financial data and tools to institutions like Ameritrade, New York Life, and Intuit.

Anand holds an MBA with Honors from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business and both graduate and undergraduate degrees in Electrical Engineering.
